If you're laundry swinging in the warm Italian air,
then it's a good thing.
It's alllllll relative:))
In the News: I am pleased as punch to announce the winners for my monthly giveaway. All three of them--Jan, Feb, and March (yeah, that would be me...running a bit behind on the drawing part. Blame it on Ed. Please). Grace Mendez of CA is the first one to return my email--haven't heard from the other two yet...so check your inbox...you might be the winner:))! Winners will receive their choice of my book-- "Let Their Be Love" or Eddie. Since they will be given a choice, I am betting I will be short 3 books and long on one cat --what say you??
When I was a kid my Mom would tell me I had better get myself lined out or she would do it for me. Somehow I don't think she was referring to hanging laundry.
Well, here I am....a few decades later and I still don't have myself lined out.
But I do like fresh laundry when it is.
Lined out, I mean.
Does that count????

When life feels complex, there is comfort to be had in the simplest of things. Laundry drying in the heat of the day, blooming things hugging time worn walls. Italy is that and more. A timeless place to lose our complicated selves too. So take the clothes off the line, fold them lovingly, and sit on the garden wall and survey your mini-kingdom. For in this moment, all is well.
Have an enormously beautiful day. Live moment to moment and let the joy of this day roll in and surround you like the waves of the ocean. All of this and more was made especially for you, for this day.
Over the centuries, you have to wonder--how many articles of clothing have swung in the breeze and how the styles of what was swinging has changed. The minuet, the waltz, swing dancing....and ahem...line dancing. Styles of dance and styles of clothing change many times. Wonder what will be hanging off those lines 100 years from now???
Natural beauty--fresh laundry mingled in with the gardens. It's great to escape the heat of Paris in July and head for our summer house. Don't waste any time. Just sling your things in the suitcase and catch the next flight here. I've got your room ready, and if you're nice, I'll let you help gather in the laundry..:))
"Girls Gone Wild in Paris"
Well, as promised, here's the complete group! Sarah, Asher, Susan, Brenda, Barbara, Barbara, Pris, Kay, Judith, Ann, Mary Louise, Ann, Becky, and Ann (Yep, 3 Ann's, 2 Barbara's, a Becky and a Brenda--testing my ability to paint and get the names right...but they were all uniquely wonderful ladies, so it was easy!) A supremely wonderful workshop--now, only two months until I head for California to team up with Leslie Saeta for our workshop...I am bristling with excitement. Kind of like a Jack Russell Terrier......only with two legs and no collar.
