"Unbidden Joy"
8 x 8in oil on museum quality panel
$350

When I take a look at life
so many, if indeed not all
of the best, sweetest, dearest things that I have

found Me.
They are not mine because of my
stressing, fretting, striving, controlling
Or any number of things I have done
To try and shape my life.

It is good to pause and remember
Probably the best gifts we have
in  life
 Have come to us

 Unbidden

"A Sunny Morn in Tuscany" SOLD

"A Sunny Morn in Tuscany"
12 x 12in oil on museum quality panel
$550

There is a sacred silence in the way the sun quietly starts our days.  Dusting gold on rims of flowers,  buildings  shaped from the earth, and at last, lingering on our face, warming it with the promise of the hope of a new day.  The sun certainly has its work cut out for it in Italy--it must bend, slide under, and glide around narrow passes to spill its joy onto the streets.  But it does it every day, faithfully.

There happens to be a red roadster parked just down the street.  It's a beautiful day to grab a friend, roll down the windows and take off  like you haven't a care in the world.  Make the most of this amazing life of yours--just this one day--out of all the thousands you will live...

Belle Porte.  Simply irresistible. These doors  have swung wide for many a soul before you--but for today--they are opening up to you!  Slip inside, drop your suitcase by the stairs and step out on the balcony to survey your mini kingdom.  It's a beautiful day and I must say....you look pretty sassy up there..:)!   Even Eddie thinks so (actually he said ciao meow...he thinks he's speaking Italian when he does that).  Oh to be young, naive and Ed.

Note:  This is No. 1 in the French Italian Doorway Series.

"Accessories From Italy"
6 x 6in oil on museum quality panel
$200
I have a friend named Jeffrey .  Jeffrey makes jewelry.  He tells me the only thing that separates me from the *animals (see Eddie) is my ability to accessorize.

Which I used to believe 'til I saw Eddie wearing my beaded scarf.  So much for that theory!

However, when it comes to the Italians--they do know how to accessorize.  Color around a window doesn't just have to come in the form of flowers.  It can be fresh laundry, full of color, softly stirring in the breeze.

Now that's something you don't see on HGTV...who knew you could get fashion tips for yourself, your house,  and take a mini trip to Italy all at the same time....
And just so you know that I always tell the truth-- here's Eddie with my scarf. Haven't worn it since then. I hate it when someone looks better in my clothes than I do.....

Note: It was a great show on Artists Helping Artists with Carol Marine, the premiere daily painter.  If you missed it, just remember , they are recorded!  Just click here then scroll down to On Demand Episodes.  Click play and enjoy~

It's Friday.  And I am thinking you are needing a place to get away .  Somewhere where no one knows your name and you can sleep as late as you want and stay up as late as you want and eat what you want.  It's on a side street,  a bit off the beaten path but an easy walk to the corner market to pick  up fresh chevre and some home-made  olive oil to dip your bread in.   There's some great Merlot and lemoncello in the cabinet so help yourself.  My only tip is---don't tell anyone where you're going. Especially if his name starts with an Ed and ends with a 'tude.  Dude with a 'tude.  That's all I'm sayin'.

When I tell you to meet me under the red umbrella at the corner cafe around 1 PM, don't try to tell me the reason you are late is because you couldn't find it.....just be honest.  Tell me you slept in , cut some fresh roses from the garden to leave on the worn wooden table at the villa and read 3 chapters in your new novel before heading out on foot so you could totally soak up this gorgeous Italian day.  That I can believe....:))

"When In Rome...."
6 x 6in oil on museum quality panel
$200

After giving it some serious thought I have concluded that the only way I can hang laundry out my window is if I  move to Rome.  Or Florence.  Or Provence.  Somehow flaunting  your undies from a one level, 3 bedroom, brick  ranch  just doesn't have the same feel...in fact, I'm not sure, but I think it might get you arrested.

....I'm just sayin'.

That's my excuse.  What's yours??

Tip for the day:  Go green...move to Italy and let Mother nature dry your unmentionables....

And in other news..:))

I am starting to get excited about sharing my new ---soon to be released--book on how to get started marketing your art.  It's the book I wish I'd  had when I first started looking around, trying to decide what to do first to get my career moving.  Here's a sneak peek for your viewing and reading pleasure...:)  The Artist's Toolbox

"Laundry Day in Tuscany"---funny how laundry just sounds better the minute you put Tuscany in the same sentence with it.  Suddenly, I could do it all day, if I was hanging out in Italy....:))  Especially knowing I could "reward" myself later with some gelato......

Bet I could even bribe you to do the laundry....I'm just sayin'.

And now inquiring minds want to know.......

"Where's Your Dreama Original??" Send me a photo of your Dreama original in it's new home-- I would love to see where you put your painting and why you chose that spot...:))... I will be sharing the paintings and their stories on my blog and in upcoming newsletters. Tell me your story!

"Balcone di Amore" SOLD

"Balcone di Amore"
6 x 6in oil on museum quality panel
$200

Painting this coastal balcony in Italy reminds me--- how precious each little piece of the world that we make ours, actually is.

Hands, not as young as they one time were, spreading out a well worn, but well loved cloth on a table for two.

Plants watered and spoken too.

Deep breaths taken of sun warmed air.

We bring the gift of ourselves to everything we touch. Perhaps that is what makes me so happy when I see these minuto balconies with their arms so full of such things that we humans find precious. What each of us has that goes into all these things---that thing that fills all the space and then some....

Amore....Love!

May you have a love of a day.

May the plants nod their heads to you when you pass.

May the birds sing their song just for you.

Just for the day, may you be infinitely aware!
