It was a magical night. 

No plan--we just naturally gravitated to the back deck

overlooking miles of distant ridges. 

With blanket spread on rough  flooring,

laying flat on our backs,

no city lights to obscure

the heavens came into view. 

a soft band of white arched overhead, like a mystical night rainbow.

Curious thing I had never before seen. 

Silly me,

city girl and all,

it was the Milky Way.

And then the shower started. 

 Just a trickle of sorts. 

First one and then another. 

Diamond lights falling from the sky.

Wishes were made on all.

I stopped counting at 12:))

AKA: Mr. Big Paws

Mornings feel different on Sabbath Song Farm.

Before the sun rises, silver moon still shining, 

the mist lays between

the rows of tree tops

that layer out

to where lavender skies

kiss blue ridge.

That's the precise moment when Mr. Big Paws makes his entrance from the fields.

It also happens to be the time  the hummingbirds begin their  early morning rounds. 

 Coincidence?

I think not.

 

Initially, Mr. Big Paws is quite the gentleman, waiting at the door. 

Do not be taken in by this.

One nano second later,

he has assumed the "somebody better let me in or heads will roll" pose.

I can't really blame him though. 

Carolyn has fixed a Sweet Potato Quiche with Bacon,  fit for a king

and a Lime Curd Blackberry Italian Meringue Pie.

Life is good on the farm.

Especially if it happens to be Sabbath Song Farm

and

 your name is Mr. Big Paws.

To meet Kitten you must take a trip to the country. 

Way out in the country. 

All the way to a road called Toadvine to a place named Sabbath Song. 

 Sabbath Song is a B & B

 owned by a beautiful lady named Carolyn. 

Carolyn is an artist and her husband Wes, is a composer. 

They have horses,

English Mastiffs

and no cats. 

Kitten is the neighbor's cat. 

He came over to visit on my last visit to Sabbath Song. 

 He walked right in the back door of the converted barn that is now the B & B and jumped up in my lap, up on my chest

and started nudging his cheek to mine. 

He made the rounds to all who were there

tried to swipe some food from the table

and then headed back outside to go on a big hunt for the day.

That's just how Mr. Big Paws rolls:))
