You may remember the small piece I posted on this a few weeks back. The smaller works provide a great way to "try on" ideas for compositions, colors, etc. The original 8" x 8" I did inspired this painting (an 18" x 18"). I modified the roof portion a bit, showing more of it and introducing the palm fronds. As you read this I am in California where this scene is located---San Diego, Balboa Park, Spanish Village Art Center, Studio One. The whole park is a never ending source of painting inspiration--if you make it to San Diego sometime, then you must make sure to visit the Spanish Village Art Center--I guarantee you will fall in love, just like I have! I have entered this painting in some national competitions so keep your fingers crossed for me...!Pin It
