"Back to a Weird State of Normal"

Just arrived last night from Marco Island.  A few items somehow turned up in my luggage.  In my defense, they had tagged them with words like..."Life is Good" and "Live life enjoy color"

they may as well of said-- take me, I'm yours:)))

I returned home with: 

Wet Paintings

Overweight luggage:))

Key Lime Pie on my breath

Sea shells

Sand dust on more than a few things 

Some errant lizards (those in the workshop know what I'm talking about:))

A thicker journal

Priceless memories of:

Dinner --at the Sanborn house. On the menu?  Laughter, love, joy, and the world's best key lime pie!!!

Women-- who shared the workshop experience, whose faces I saw full of hope, wisdom, readiness, love, and all manner of amazing things (when you have the rare privilege to stand before a group, always take it--it's amazing the beauty you will see from that vantage point)

Skies---daybreak, raining, dusk, and midnight, all one of a kind canvases for my viewing pleasure

Quietness---early morning, late at night-- the vastness of the ocean and the skies beckoned

 "be still my soul"

I am, for the moment, back home.

Which means, things are back too

A weird state of normal:)))

I never get over the thrill of seeing how quickly beautiful art can happen.  These artists came open minded and ready to take on the challenges of learning how someone else (me:) goes about making a painting.

And as you can see---they were up to the challenge!

And no workshop is complete without a round of musical easels:)))  

18 paintings in 40 minutes!

I missed getting photographs of the very last works they did-- you will just have to trust me when I say--  there were  beautiful ocean scenes, cats, dogs, sunflowers and more!

My three days with this group of talented artists went by oh so fast. I am one happy gal indeed-- just count it up...

*The fresh lobster and homemade key lime pie hasn't hurt either....but I will save that for another post:)))

An open window in France, a petite "jardin in a box" and some golden rays of sunshine.  Either way your lookin'--in or out---it pretty much says JOY:)!!  

P.S.  What you can't "see" is the smell of fresh crepes, strawberries and real whipped cream wafting out the window.....:))

"Island Time"

1st Morning in Marco Island

And this is why we love the ocean.  

For it's many moods

 for the peace we  feel washing in on every wave:))

My workshop, first one of the year, kicks off in less than 24 hours here in Marco Island!  

'Til then, I am delighting in a newly discovered book Color and Light and dark French roast  coffee.

And some serious nap time:)))

Eddie would be proud.
