Color makes a lot of folks happy, present company included.  

The wondrous thing is this---color sings because of what surrounds it.  Just like people, colors NEED each other.  Just place your finger over one of those gorgeous blues or the tomato pinky orange and see what happens---the whole scene changes!  

Ever noticed how one person can do the same thing?  We all love those folks that light up a room when they walk in.  They usually do this by reflecting back beauty and love to those surrounding them:)))

Color and people---we all need both.

Ooh la la.....surrounded by color, beauty and love.

Life is Good!

In Other News:

Books and paintings and more, oh yes!  I have put Eddie to work on finishing out all the inspirational writings from November for the free download--- I am guessing I may need to edit out his portion (he gets inspired by big bugs on their backs)....so we'll just have to wait and see.  

We do have a name!  And a cover! We are making progress;))

This coming week I will be posting about the workshops that took place in November (they were pre-empted on the blog by the Gratitude Adventure).

The Gratitude List is long and growing longer in the Gratitude Dropbox!

Well, here we are.   
30 Days of Gratitude under our collective belts.  
It has been an experiment where clearly the sum of the whole is much greater than the sum of the parts.  
I don't know that any of us realized when we set foot on the path that with a day at a time,  a comment at a time,  we would inch forward into the month, building a habit of thankfulness, awareness, a new way of seeing.

THE GREAT GRATITUDE ADVENTURE/ DAY 30/ RED SHOES

It can be easy to assume that everyone around us knows more than we do.

That they are more  knowledgeable on subjects that are important to us.

Things like, oh, I don’t know...

Religion, creative choices, relationships...whatever you wish to insert here, but the broader definition would just be knowledge on how to navigate life in general.

Perhaps they are older.

Perhaps they are well studied on a particular subject

Maybe they have a genius IQ

Or a photographic memory

Maybe even tremendous life experience complete with a school of hard knocks degree.

Whatever the case may be--- it is easy, oh so easy--- to assume that we should look to those more knowledgeable to take our cues on what’s best for us.

Granted, no one asks us to do this.  Sometimes it just seems easier to trust someone other than ourselves, someone who seems to have the right answers, a lot of knowledge.

The thing to note here is this.

There is knowledge 
and then there’s something called intuition, our inner wisdom---

That part of us which for some reason doesn’t seem to need to go on a fact-finding, knowledge building quest in order to know what is best for us.

Certainly, it is  helpful to look at what is known, what comes to us from the outside.

However,

It is life-changing to go with the wisdom that comes from inside.

Almost Over??

I'm thinking that something as good as the gratitude adventure shouldn't have to end...

This has been, without a doubt, one of the most enjoyable things I have ever been part of.  I have read every comment (over 5300 and counting). 

It has been an incredible gift---connections made on a soul level:))  Thanks to each of you for taking part, for sharing yourself.   

The Great Gratitude Adventure has become, as one of you put it, "a collective gratitude journal".

With so many gaining so much from it and supporting each other through it, it comes as no surprise----it has taken on a life of its own!

To that end, after giving it serious thought and staying mostly open to what we could do with this awesome sense of gratefulness---the idea popped in my mind to create a Gratitude Dropbox.  

One place that is perpetually open to post gratitude comments and delight in what others are sharing.  

Instead of just for November, a year around place to land, read, and share the amazing joys of life.

This is a starting place.  Who knows where it will end.  It doesn't matter.  For now we all have a place, online, to put it in writing....we are grateful beings:))

A Higher Good

There is that which we do.

We often think we “get” what’ it’s all about, what we’re about, why we are doing it, and maybe sometimes we are in a position to take in the whole picture---but more often than not, we are looking for  immediate results and overlooking everything else.  

We have no idea, really, how our work will impact someone else either now or in the future.

What about the shelf life of our latest efforts? What impact will it have beyond it’s “toddler” years?

When my Dad was nearing the end of his sojourn here, we often passed the time watching Andy Griffith reruns.  Films some 50 years old.  What was woven into those moments by the writers, cameramen, make-up artists, directors and the actors became a gift to us in the present moment.  Our family laughed together and for a time, we were able to forget our troubles.

I often wonder---did they know, did those artists have a clue that what they were doing in the 60’s could reach out and bring some comfort to a family decades later?   

For my own self, I can’t begin to say how many books, how many music CD’s have fallen into my hands at just the right time and brought me joy, made me not feel alone, or made a good day simply a thousand times better.  In Tune With the Infinite, a book by Ralph Waldo Trine that I read back in ’97 which was so relevant to me at the time was penned in 1899!

Artwork painted weeks, months, years ago turns up in places like museums, hospitals and hotels with the artist never knowing what emotions, what comfort, what memories may be stirred by those that see them.

We are often so focused on getting/seeing an immediate result from our efforts that we forget.....there is a bigger picture, a bigger plan.  

It is our job to show up and let what’s intended to Be flow through us.  

When we allow 
what is real, 
what is truth, 
what is beauty,

 to shine out through 

our hands, 

our hearts, 

our vision

 it will accomplish more than we can ever imagine or ever know---both in the present and in times to come.  

Knowing that in the end that what will count is this:
that our life mattered
had meaning,
made a difference in the lives of others

....it contained within it
