"Catalicious Cat Tail and Roses" SOLD

"Catalicious Cat Tail and Roses"
12 x 12in oil on museum quality panel
$550

It is guaranteed, if I start doing anything, hoping that Eddie will not involve himself,  he will appear lightening fast.
I have a workshop, specifically still life workshop, coming up this week.
Playing with some ideas, seriously hoping no one ,(Ed), would show up while I'm working and eat my roses.
Doesn't seem like a lot to ask.
May as well hoped he (Ed) had purchased a winning lotto ticket with intentions of sharing it with me.
Of course he showed up.  And stayed.  Knocked  things over, chewed on a few flowers, then sprawled out to soak up (and block) the sun.
It's Ed.
That's how Ed rolls.

On a more personal note:  This is one time Eddie "showing his tail" worked to my advantage....

Please Note:  This is No. 6 in the "Catalicious Series" and has earned the prestigious EBSA award (Eddie Bill Seal of Approval).

"Catalicious Kit Kat" SOLD

"Catalicious Kit Kat"
8 x 8in oil on museum quality panel
$350

The fine art of focusing as defined by Kit Kat.
Spotted  bug on ceiling, stared at  bug  so long  sleep ensued,  Head left  tilted  in bug watch position.
Zen masters ain't got nothin' on Kit Kat.

 Kit Kat lives with Alivia.
Thought for the day from Alivia?
" 'We'll see' is part of no, and that's not good ." (Overheard shortly after toy request at store.)
Alivias and Kit Kats.  Much to be learned from both....

Please Note:  This is No. 5 in the "Catalicious Series" and has earned the prestigious EBSA (Eddie Bill Seal of Approval).  Above painting done prior to bug watching episode...

In Other News:
As mentioned in a previous post, the Daily Paintworks group that I belong to has an ongoing weekly painting challenge --and  I was asked to create a challenge for it!  It starts Saturday, May 14th.  The name of the challenge....The Whole Cat and Caboodle Challenge...of course:))  Click here to find out how to participate.

Email me the name of your all time, can't live without it, would rescue from a burning building, art book--and tell me why it's your fav!  It's next week's show on Artists Helping Artists internet radio show that I co-host.  We are going to share  the scoop with everyone--expect to be surprised and learn of some great art books you didn't even know existed!  We want your 2 cents worth:))

And one more thing--if you have fun receiving my blog posts in your inbox and would like to share it with a friend--Ed and I would be most honored:))  Your friends can sign up to receive it too by clicking here.

That's all.  I must now go practice bug watching.  Eddie is holding a workshop on it and said I could come for free and bring a friend.  Any takers??? Pin It

"Catalicious Baby" SOLD

"Catalicious Baby"
6 x 6in oil on museum quality canvas
$200

Don't you just know, old cats hate the new kid on the block.  The young whippersnapper who has entirely too much energy and is sorely lacking in the good judgement department.  They who pounce on old-timers tails and climb on anything, moving or not.

And no doubt most egregious of all, bring the entire cat population down by being totally lacking in the all important "cattitude" department (as in wearing a hot pink  bow-tie).
Really.
Enough to make any old cat furfed*.

**On a more personal note, I would like to add that this is the only time you can have that much hair in your ears and still be cute.

*SourceThe Proimos Dictionary of Cat Terms
 furf [furf]ed: adjective, furfer, furf·dest, noun, verb, furf·ed, furf·ing.

1.mentally disturbed; deranged; insane; demented. (only as it applies to Eddie)
2.enraged; greatly provoked or irritated; angry.
as an adjective:
1. describing cats when annoyed and hair on back stands up

Please Note Catalicious Baby is No. 4 in the "Catalicious Series" and has earned the coveted EBSA award (Eddie Bill Seal of Approval).

$550

Detail of Whiskerlicious Woowis
What does one say about a cat wearing an all white tux with a bow tie on their ears??
Definitely in the category of "what not to wear" unless your name is Woowis (yes, Woowis, like Lewis with a w).
Only Woowis could pull this look off.

I have to say, none of my cat's friends are safe from being painted.  Even Woowis.  He usually keeps a great distance between us, however......I have found his weak spot.
We all have at least one.  It's just figuring out the specifics....in this case it turned out to be shrimp.
Shocking, I know.

Please Note:  This is No.3 in the "Catalicious" Series and does have the coveted (?) EBSA stamp (Eddie Bill Seal of Approval....just in case you needed to know:))

"Cool Catalicious" SOLD

There are certain things in life we crave.

Craving is different than wanting.

Craving is the wanting that persists:))

You know, like when you are craving chocolate.

You can eat a handful of jelly beans (guilty) or a entire bag of donut holes (ahem...guilty)

and still be craving....CHOCOLATE!

And craving is a joyous thing. It's so specific. You know exactly what to do to get it taken care of.

It's not ambiguous. There is no guessing involved.

Well, I have been craving to paint. And not just anything.

It had to have fur, whiskers and eyes that hold all the secrets since time began.

Eddie, however, had his own cravings, something to do with collecting bird eggs for the kids for Easter (like I'm gonna believe that one....).

Thank goodness he is not the only cat on the planet, even though that would come as a shock to him.

Thanks to my artist friend, Janie Jicha, for providing me with a fix for my craving:)))--some great cat photos to paint from:))

Craving satisfied.

At least for today.

Tomorrow is a whole other deal.

Please Note:  I have actually been on a cat painting binge...and feel the need to add another series called..."Catalicious"  (code for don't tell Eddie) .  This painting is No. 1 of the series.  For fans of the  Eddie and Phyllis series ...not to worry, No. 11 coming soon!
