"Joey, Atlanta, and the Quote to Remember"

"Joey"
8 x 8in oil on museum quality panel
SOLD

Joey was one of two house cats at the "Hotel Byrd" (my incredible accommodations in Atlanta,  which were provided by Leslie Saeta's brother, Gary, and wife Aileen.)  Joey avoided me the first two days, but I came in the third day to find him nesting in my luggage:)).  Thanks to artist Karen Rose, I  came home bearing catnip gifts for Eddie (which distracted him from noticing the orange hair on my clothes).....

Me and My Partner in crime, er I mean...Co-Teacher for the workshop, Leslie Saeta:))

Atlanta was a workshop to remember.  Artists from Wisconsin, Rhode Island, Florida, California, Louisiana, Kentucky, Oklahoma,  New York, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina met on Thursday as strangers and parted on Saturday night rich with a collection of new, supportive, talented artistic friends!
The workshop was held at the Kings Plow Art Center and it made for an incredible home for our artists!  Lots of room to spread out--we even had our own kitchen:))

I demoed the first day--- and look what beautiful paintings the group painted on day one! (And I should say that this group was made up of beginning artists to seasoned artists--simply amazing!)
Then we ate:))

And painted some more---Day two was Leslie's demo day and the boat paintings just came sailing in:))
And of course we ate some more:)) (Leslie and I did the cookin' both nights and it was good--even Eddie would have approved..:) (and thanks to Gary and Aileen for hosting all of us crazy artists:))!!

In all, there was a lot of painting, learning, eating, sharing, laughing, crying, hugging, teasing, and all around good times.  The kind of stuff that makes us strong as artists and people, that helps us to go out and do our own work and do it well:))! You can look to hear from these artists in the future.  They are one motivated bunch of painters:))!!
And here's the gang!  Wendy, Patsy, Jana, Lisa, Regina, Pam, David, Tricia, Kelley, Karen, Diane, Cate, Julia, Ruthie, Cissy, Sandra, Monica, Libby, Jerri, Leslie, Ann, Joyce, Kathy, Marissa, and Me::)!!

And the quote of the workshop??

...."If I don't glue something I think I will just explode."
 ~Ruthie

(you had to be there for this one, but trust me, you would have belly laughed with us all:)))
Thanks to each of you who came and made this the wonderful experience that it was.  My drive home from Atlanta to Kentucky sped by as I thought of each of you and your stories and your paintings.  Simply amazing:))

"The Thing About France...." SOLD

"The Thing About France..."
6 x 6in oil on museum quality panel
$200

I have concluded, after much thought, that the thing about France is this:
Most any street one turns down, looks like it should be painted....as in a picture.:))
The twisting, narrow, alley ways  lead one on an irresistible journey of-----
what delight could appear  around the next curve
What delight indeed.
And that's the thing about France!
