My Palette and Other Favorite Things

I am always curious to see what other artists are using to create their work with, what inspires them, what tool they have found that creates that "Aha!" moment.  To that end, I decided to post some of my favorite discoveries here.  Many of these items and more stuff are in my store:)) (Click Here to Go to Dreama's Art Supply Store)

This is my start here, so check back from time to time to see what I have added, including some of my favorite books, blogs, etc. that I find inspiring and helpful.

Panel Holder
Love, love, love this panel holder from Carol Marine's creative husband.  It holds my small panels snug and keeps the backs "paint free" and best of all--allows for great brush handling with no interference from my easel's lip!  Check it out here

Dreama's Favorite Frames
Randy Higbee of http://www.kingofframe.com/ is the go to guy for your frames.  I am partial to his floater frames for small works (they show off every square fraction of an inch of your smallest jewels in your art collection!)  Any frame on his website can be purchased as a floater frame --just ask for it!  I told him they should be called minute frames because it takes that or less to get your artwork in it--amazing and beautiful.

My personal favorites from his collection are the Plein Air Black  #1, shown here

and the Manhattan with Gold Lip, shown below.

Dreama's Favorite Artist Easel
Hands down this is the best one.  It has traveled to France, Italy and more with me.  It weighs in at 7 lbs and easily fits into my carry-on luggage.  It's sturdy, holds my panels securely and is so quick to assemble that it's a dream.

It is designed by the talented artist, James Coulter. When I called James to order mine and we got to talking--well, he ended up sending it to me to try out and use for free (knowing I teach workshops year around and that many artists would get to see it in action helped:))  It is known to many as the Coulter Plein Air System. You can see how awesome it  is by clicking here If you'd like to see it in action, click here!  I don't make any monies from those that he sells...just so you know:))  It's just a great easel!
