"Back in the Saddle (Studio) Again..:)"

I have been out of pocket for a week plus change. I have missed painting, being at my desk writing, and as much as I hate to admit it.... I have even missed Eddie. I like to think he missed me as well, but the truth is...

when I returned home, I assumed he would be meeting me at the door as I trundled my heavier than ever luggage in , but no Eddie. I called for him, sure he would come running down the stairs. NO Eddie.

At this point I am starting to be a bit concerned. I have had my brother in law staying with him and some workmen in the house--maybe he had snuck out the door.

So I head upstairs with my heart beating a bit faster calling for him.

No Eddie.

Then I thought to look under my bed.

And there he laid. Looking me dead in the eye ......and yawning.

And that was my welcome home from Eddie. So much for how you think its gonna be after watching a few owners reunite with their pets in the Disney movies. Obviously the Disney writers haven't met Ed.

However, my trip out west was something I will be on a high from for days to come. I ate my way through 3 cities, visited with my daughter and her friends in LA. Got to meet, Live and In Person....Leslie Saeta and Julie Hill---two great California artists (photo below) I was able to see Leslie's new show that had just gone up, Headliners, which was a great experience, see her studio where she creates all those incredible palette knife paintings, and have lunch with her and Julie.

I then headed into San Diego and met with a gang of my artist buddies there including Carol Foster, Steve Maddy, Susan Roden, and harpist Amy Kanner along with other friends I visited with at Spanish Village in Balboa Park.

Friday was road trip time--heading over the desert into Phoenix AZ for the Martha Beck conference. Martha is author of some of my favorite books (Steering by Starlight, The Joy Diet and Finding Your Own North Star) and a regular contributor to O magazine. I am in the process of becoming a certified life coach through the Martha Beck program and took the opportunity to travel out to meet her and some of the other great life coaches in attendance. It was a phenomenal time. Totally an enriching experience. And Martha has one of my books...:))) Says she keeps it out for inspiration (Martha paints too!) I was so thrilled!

Tomorrow I will be back in my studio painting, chasing Eddie out of the way, trying to stay ahead of Leslie Saeta, getting caught up on email ...in other words...things will be back to my state of "normal"....::))
