Remember the posting I did a few weeks ago on my mini photo cube? Well, say hello to the mother of all cubes! For those of you who live in states that have gorgeous weather year 'round (Leslie, I am talkin' to you sister) you won't need to read this. For the rest of us who have been freezing our collective bunzola's off these past few weeks---read on! I was so in love with my baby cube I had said to myself...."Gee, I wish they made these in big sizes." And as luck would have it, as I was searching for the info to post on the little one, guess what I ran across. The MOTHER OF ALL CUBES! This little lady is 60" tall. Perfect for photographing the big stuff. The painting you see in the cube is 30 x 40in. I tried shooting several different ways, but the best for me was to use the natural light, camera on tripod approach. The cube is a light nylon type fabric that lets light in but gets rid of the glare that can happen on an oil painting. I bought it on ebay for around 70 bucks. This is something you could actually share with an artist friend since you don't need to use it everyday. Or you can just order one for yourself and flip it on it's back and let it double as a playpen or laundry hamper when not in use....:) Seriously, the only complaint I have with it is......it's supposed to roll/fold/collapse and go in this little black bag that it came in. Haven't figured that one out yet. So for now it is semi collapsed and lurking in a closet...:)
