This little guy started out to be painted as just a bud. I spied him yesterday, offspring of Mr. Lincoln, and loved the delicate, closed shape. I snipped him and placed him in cold water in the fridge (I have to say, I had a pang of guilt doing this, thinking nobody likes to be left in the cold and in the dark!) but I knew if he stayed on my kitchen counter he would be opened before I could get back from a day's visit with my Mom.
Sure enough, it worked. I checked in on him as soon as I got home and he was still tightly wrapped so I toted him into my studio. Now at this point, you have probably begin to wonder where is this "Buddy" I am talking about. Well, wouldn't you know it. He's just like us. The minute you pull him out, start paying attention to him and showering him with light and love--he starts opening up! Before I could get my fresh paint squeezed out, he was letting me into his heart. How cool is that! Didn't need to paint a tight little bud anyway. Pin It
