"Lunch on the Patio" SOLD

"Lunch on the Patio"
8 x 8in oil on museum quality panel
$350

Can I just say that Phyllis is completely star struck?  She actually took Eddie out for lunch today.  She is talking non-stop and every sentence starts with, "Eddie says..."  It's hard telling what he's saying to  her.  And sadly, I don't care as much as I probably should.  It's just a relief to have him out of my hair for the moment....
Note:  Don't tell Eddie, but I am having lots of fun painting he and Phyllis.  This is No. 3 in the series.

"The Grand Tour, Eddie Style" SOLD

"The Grand Tour"
8 x 8 in oil on museum quality panel
$350

"And this is where I sit to keep an eye out for the paparazzi......"
I fear that Phyllis is a bit gullible ---playing right into Eddie's paws so to speak.  He, of course, is loving having an audience.  Jeez, it's gonna be a long week.....

Note:  This is second in my series of Eddie and Phyllis.  I have chosen to do them in the 8 x 8 size, which is nearly twice the size of  my normal 6 x 6 in daily pieces.

"Present" for P.A.W.S.

"Present"
20 x 20 Framed Reproduction

Animals by nature live in the present moment.  No angsting over yesterdays' missed opportunities, no worrying over tomorrow's bad weather forecast.
As a result, they notice everything.
 No butterfly,
 no sun-warmed rose,
 no greeting,
no touch,
Escapes their ever present awareness. And surely that is where true bliss is to be found.  Yesterdays and tomorrows live only in our mind.
The only real thing we have is this very present moment.

Eddie and I have donated the above framed print to P.A.W.S --our local animal shelter--for their annual fundraiser.  Eddie himself was a California pound kitty and loves the idea of helping his fur bearing friends  find good homes!

  • For all you artists, get your thinking caps on and brushes in hand for the monthly painting challenge on the Artists Helping Artists Blog.  I already have my idea in mind--what's yours going to be?

"Up, Down, and All Around in Italy" SOLD

"Up, Down, and All Around in Italy"
12 x 12 in oil on museum quality panel
$550

You just gotta think that if you are the one living up above here, your view framed by periwinkle blue ---that the coffee and pastry smell is wafting up through your window every morning.  Delicious!  I am betting you have made friends with the proprietor and now have breakfast delivered to your door, allowing you to sit on the window sill and take in the morning in your p.j.s.
When you're fully awake and have sipped down the last of the coffee, your carriage awaits.  Don't tell me you didn't see it.  It's your trusty blue bicycle waiting on you...:))  Lots of exploring to be done today and you've got nothing but time.
And Eddie.
Sorry about the latter part.

Please Note:  This is the debut of my French and Italian scenes being made available in larger sizes.  "Up, Down, and All Around in Italy" is 12 x 12 inches, 4 times the size of my regular daily paintings (but not 4 times the price..:).  To celebrate, this is available with free shipping in the US and Canada.  And as an added bonus, I promise not to ship Eddie with it --- lucky you!

I hope you have so much abundance in your life today that it overflows onto everything around you!!

This painting is from my latest collection, "Let There Be Love..."  If you click on the link in blue, it will let you see it in a larger format.  It's just a wee bit bigger than the paintings I normally put here on my blog.  Like maybe 40 times bigger....:))  Overflowing.  That's how we like it!
(This painting has the words peace, love, joy and beauty scripted into it.  Can you see them?)

Painting is a participation sport.  I've done my part--  now it's  up to you to see yourself stretched out in your favorite chair sipping something cool in the shade of the big blue umbrella.  I think I just heard a really relaxed aahhhhhh....Can I get you anything else?

In Other News:

  • Share your best studio tip!  Next week's Artists Helping Artists radio show is going to be on just that--I am betting you have a least one thing you do, tool you use, idea you have come up with--that would be helpful to another artist.  I would love to hear about it--and you can add a photo too if you like.  Just email me at DreamaTollePerry@aol.com and Leslie Saeta and I  will include it in next week's show.  Go to the Artists Helping Artists Blog for more details by clicking here. I have had it on my mind to do for some time, but today I finally got around to it!  I get lots of requests from artists  curious about my colors, surfaces I paint on, etc.

  •  I have added a page to my blog, called appropriately, My Favorite Things, on which I share just that!  You can have a look by clicking here.
  • Today I ordered my supplies for my upcoming California workshop and had them shipped to Leslie Saeta's home in Pasadena....LESLIE--THEY ARE NOT YOURS...STAY OUT OF MY ART SUPPLIES.  Sorry, just had to go public with this to make sure I still have stuff to work with when I get there in September--you know how artists can be when it comes to fresh, unsqueezed tubes of paint, new brushes, shiny palette knives.  Just writing it about it  makes me nervous.  Probably should have just taken my chances flying with them.....

"Basket Case" SOLD

"Basket Case"
6 x 6in oil on museum quality panel

                                                                                                      $200
(plus one can of tuna)

It's Ed.  Do I really need to say anymore??
This is  what we've  come too.  Eddie is waiting on his agent to present me with the contract.  Refuses to let me really see him to paint--  just bits and pieces of fur and fluff.  Kind of a stand-off. He knows I am wanting to create two more paintings of him, one for my annual PAWS fundraiser painting for the end of this month and the other for the mouse project for Steve Worthington's book.  He keeps telling me the "claws" in his contract (Eddie doesn't really get the whole lawyer/contract language thing...) states that he is to get one can of tuna with each small painting sold of him.  So to satisfy him and his "cat people" I have added it to the price.  Not to worry, I will pick it up and deliver it, just as though you had done it yourself. No point in two of us being on Ed's bad side.

In other news:

  • This week's Artists Helping Artist radio show is on ways to improve your blog--due to conflicting scheduling our show will be live at 10 EST time this Thursday, August 5,  and will revert back to regular time (12 EST) next week.  If you miss us live, you can always catch the recorded shows by going to "Artists Helping Artists" Blog.  Click Here!
